This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff. It covers workers who are responsible for developing and evaluating the qualification. Workers at this level have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteer. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.
Half of the staffs in long day care centres need to hold a diploma-level childhood education qualification.
Our specialised course will satisfy this requirement and give you an advanced understanding of all aspects of childcare, particularly from a management perspective. Whilst developing positive and respectful relationships with children and fellow staff, you will reflect on and improve your own professional practice.
You will also learn to establish a safe and healthy environment for children, foster their holistic development and well-being, nurture creativity, implement strategies, plans and curriculum for child inclusion, and provide emergency first aid response.
